The Medical Technology Cluster and the Cybersecurity division of the Security Innovation Network at Bayern Innovativ are working together with their networks on the cross-cluster MEDSEC project to systematically assess the status quo and requirements in Bavaria in the field of cybersecurity for medical devices with digital components or network connections, as well as software as a medical device.

Against the backdrop of increasing connectivity among medical devices, rising legal requirements, and immense economic damage caused by inadequate cybersecurity, the goal of the cross-cluster project is to assess and structure the status quo and needs in the field of cybersecurity in medical technology. With the cooperation of the participating organizations and cluster stakeholders, suitable approaches can be developed for targeted support and knowledge transfer to companies as they expand their digital security.
