Motor skill acquisition is the basis of a broad class of rehabilitation interventions for people post-stroke, individuals with spinal cord injury, and people with Parkinson’s disease.

On 24.05.2022, Dr. James Finley from the University of Southern California will describe his team’s recent work in which they:

  • assess how energetic cost and dynamic balance interact to regulate the acquisition of novel walking patterns and
  • develop novel, VR-based approaches for enhancing skill acquisition during locomotor training

Speaker: Dr. James Finley is an Associate Professor in the Division of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy, the Department of Biomedical Engineering, and the Neuroscience Graduate Program at the University of Southern California.
