Portabiles HealthCare Technologies was founded in 2016 by a multidisciplinary team from industry, FAU and Erlangen University Hospital. With “Mobile GaitLab”, Portabiles HCT is developing a gait analysis system that enables fast and targeted medication adjustment for Parkinson’s patients. The MDR-certified medical device is a combination of an app, intelligent gait analysis algorithms and motion sensors that patients attach to their shoes and wear in their everyday life. Patient’s gait is continuously recorded and analysed, while the treating neurologists in real time can see the need for a therapy, the symptom patterns as well as the effect of their treatment.
Mobile GaitLab is also used in clinical research to prove the effectiveness of new therapies.
