The Digital Health Innovation Platform (d.hip) is our strong collaboration between industry, higher educational medicine and research. The major players in medical technology in Erlangen, namely Siemens Healthineers, FAU, UKER and Medical Valley EMN e. V., have jointly set themselves the goal of actively advancing the digitalization of medicine and healthcare.
Cooperation network between Siemens Healthineers, FAU, UKER and Medical Valley EMN e. V., financed by industry and funding.
The four pillars of d.hip:
- Early detection in breast cancer diagnosis: Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer in women worldwide. A screening program tailored to individual risk profiles is therefore essential in order to better identify high-risk patients and avoid overdiagnosis. The aim of d.hip is precisely to develop this screening program.
- Digital Health Data Center: Data-driven product developments in the healthcare sector require responsible handling and state-of-the-art hardware and software infrastructure. In our Data Center, we take care of the complete anonymization and processing of clinical data sets with a focus on “medical imaging” for selected projects.
- d.hip Center – Innovation Center Erlangen: Together with Healthineers, d.hip has a modern and technically fully equipped event space at Henkestraße 127 where workshops, conferences and networking events can take place.
- d.hip Campus: Our projects require personnel capacities on the clinical, industrial and academic side. d.hip strengthens academic resources by co-financing junior professorships and doctoral scholarships in the field of digital health
- Development of new screening concepts and breast cancer early detection methods.
- Creation of suitable framework conditions for practical research and development.
